Behind the Scenes of Sasha Graham’s Ghosts with Catherine Mary Stewart
This week on Retro Life 4 You, we welcome the wonderful Catherine Mary Stewart for a conversation that takes us beyond her iconic acting career and behind the camera!
Fans know Catherine from ’80s favorites like The Last Starfighter, Night of the Comet, Weekend at Bernie’s, and Mischief, but Catherine has also stepped into the director’s chair and explored a very different side of storytelling.
In this episode, Catherine talks with us about directing Sasha Graham’s Ghost Stories and Tarot, working alongside renowned tarot expert and author Sasha Graham, and bringing Sasha’s unique combination of supernatural storytelling, tarot, mystery, and the unexplained to the screen.
We discuss how Catherine became involved with the project, what attracted her to Sasha’s stories, their creative collaboration, and what it was like for Catherine to approach the material from a director’s perspective rather than as an actress.
We’ll also talk about Catherine’s evolution as a filmmaker, what she has learned behind the camera, and how decades of experience as an actress have influenced the way she directs and works with performers.
And, of course, we’ll take a trip down memory lane and touch on Catherine’s incredible career and her place in some of the most beloved cult classics of the 1980s.
It’s a conversation about acting, directing, tarot, ghost stories, creativity, and taking on new challenges with one of our favorite faces from the ’80s.
